Misty, along with her sibling Oscar and Bear, was one of the three original “drop box persians” deposited in the night box at the Granville County shelter in Oxford NC, by a breeder who saw no value in them, after grossly neglecting their health. With a day’s notice and a short window of opportunity to rescue them, we raced to the shelter some 5 hours from here, unsure of what we would be ultimately faced with. Despite our efforts over the last 18 months and although her eye ulcers and diarrhea issues have been resolved, the corneal sequestrum that remains in her one eye, will ultimately require a debridement intervention, and she will be returning for follow up to the eye specialist who has been overseeing her progress. His gal, is another one who eats everything in sight, has become a friend to all, and is not short on vocalizing her opinions or letting us know when something is on her mind!
